Validation and Traceability

INDEPENDENT CONDUCTIVITY RECORDER (Knick Stratos)

Conductivity is the measurement of total dissolved solids. The independent conductivity meter fitted to the Fibro- Cleaner measures and monitors the chemical purity of all process fluids including the incoming water quality, the wash phase with detergent, the disinfection phase including the disinfectant concentration and the quality of the final rinse water.

Note: Conductivity is a pre-requisite for compliance to HTM2030

Unlike washer disinfectors for surgical instruments, the final rinse water in an endoscope washer disinfector is far more critical as it is the 'terminal process' following disinfection and as such it is essential that this water is as pure as possible. If it is not pure/sterile the patient may become infected or misdiagnosed due to impurities being left on the endoscope.

VALITRACE - cycle validation & traceability system

All Fibro-Cleaner cycle data is down loaded to a PC via an RS232 or RS485 serial port and Lancer's own V@litrace traceability software, where it is stored in an Access database. It is simple to search and print cycle data from any previous cycle stored in the database. The unique cycle data cannot be edited, however notes may be added.

INDEPENDENT CHART RECORDER (Endress & Hauser)

All cycle critical parameters are monitored by the microprocessor controller's self-diagnostics and secondly verified by the independent chart recorder and sensors.

Where the measured values from these sensors differ by more than the tolerance agreed at validation, then a fault condition will be initiated.

The recorder gives you guaranteed verification that successful decontamination was achieved. The cycle information is automatically stored and may be printed out on A4 paper.

Note: An independent recorder is a pre-requisite for compliance to HTM2030.
